Sample Email to Recruit Education Leaders

Dear Friend of Public Education,

With the help of strong, local education advocates, I am organizing a coalition to communicate with our legislators and the media about protecting education in the California budget. Would you be interested in helping create this coalition?

We will be a part of a statewide campaign to protect and improve funding for our public schools. The Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) and the California School Board Association (CSBA) have promoted this grass roots effort and have provided talking points and other materials which we will use in our campaign. I am (we will be) scheduling meetings with our local legislators and media representatives for a few minutes (30 to 45) to express our growing concern for the future of California public schools. I will encourage each member of the coalition to be responsible for a topic of concern, and we will make our presentations as a group with each person contributing.
